you don't need to have all these special techniques when shooting should be natural and easy
it has to be the exact same release everytime
a shot that is simple and is repeatable
a release that can be used for all types of shots, freethrows shotst off the dribble set shots runners fadeaways shots under pressure

shoot early in the "up" of the down up motion you make when you jump
when you shoot, push your arm out extending it as far as it can go with your elbow locking --- this is another way to ensure consistency
if you don't push your arm as far as it will go and your arm stops short, you will have to repeat that same partial extension - thus adding variables (or things that could go wrong) and jeopardizing consistency
your fingers and hand should be relaxed when you shoot
therefore your wrist will flop forward and bounce a couple of times if the locking of the elbow, the pushing of the arm to full extentsion
don't tense up any part of your hand because you will add extra spin and add variables to your shot
if you tense up any part of your hand or fingers when you shoot.. this action must be repeated exactly every time you shoot if you want to be consistent .. which is nearly impossible
so make sure your hand is not tense almost dead
don't change the release due to varying distances from the basket change the amount of power your legs produce
finally the earlier you shoot it the more power your shot will have

and since youmight not be the stongest i wouldn't recommend shooting it over above your head
the only reason you should want to shoot above your head is for a quicker release and one that is harder to block
your shot may be above your head-if it is make sure it is not so far behind your head that the shot is not pushing motion and becomes a throwung motion
also make sure the ball isnt so far above your head there isn't anymore arm to straighten

---------------------
the clip at the bottom can really demonstrate some of the concepts i have stated
The Swish Method
make sure is the exact same release everytime releasing the ball faster or slower will only make your shot worse as you will have problems with your consistency
why should you have to practice two or more different releases? when it can all be the same with just added amounts of leg power?
don't just "use your legs" or "bend your knees"
make sure you are getting all the power and stability you can get out of them because they are stronger than your arms
ive said this before but i really can't stress enough how important this is... the earlier you shoot it the more power your shot will have
this is definetly important if your shooting above your head
you should practice you release about 5 to 8 feet from the basket whenever you can.. with no lower body power(or just a little if its not comfortable but make sure its the same amout every time) eventually if your swishing it alot close your eyes and youll feel a closer connection to the basket and your shot
you shoud be at a distance where you can shoot it every time and its a perfect swish

don't be afraid to shoot high you should air for medium high arch- 45/50 to as much as 60 degrees
i guess its kind hard to know the degrees your shooting at
but just make sure your shot isn't flat and don't be afraid to shoot it up

if you ever feel you shots will be to strong just shoot it higher or release it later in the up motion of the jump (hangtime)
i really hope you look into the swish method because it really does work and i think is the #1 shooting method ever
after waching them i have a new understanding of shooting
and if you want confidence
this method will give you cofidence
what's better than knowing you will make the shot befor you take it?!?!?!?!

If you're not much taller than 6'(1 85cm) and dunking is not easy and does not comes naturally to you then you'll need this system from here https://tr.im/4QSrJ to discover ways to dunk with out a problem.
The Vert Shock plan claims you something between 9 to 15 inches development on your own vertical jump.
With Vert Shock process you will not desire a gymnasium because all you want for the work-out is a park benchor even a little wall and a soft floor where you are able to do your depth jumps and your package leaps and a basketball for some exercise.
With Vert Shock you'll learn how to dunk 9 to 15 inches larger in only 8 weeks without costly gym.

practice. and start practicing from short range before you try shooting 3's..

tape a game with a player who you think has a great shot. (i used to tape paul pierce & kevin johnson) and sit down and study how they shoot during a game. watch how they step into shots, and what they do with their arms after the shot on the follow through. practice with all of that in mind, and start from close range then work your way outside... do some jumping drills, too many people think shooting is all in the wrists, but the legs are also a very important element. once you start jumping higher, shots will come off easier.

Use more power from your legs to support your jumpshot. And form a 90 degree angle when you shoot. Thats how professionals shoot. =) Merry Xmas

Well... put the ball in your right hand (if youre right handed) and guide it with the left... don't shoot with the left, just guide. Don't forget to bend the knees, because that's where the power should come from.
