human beings are created with a freedom of choice. that means even in the same circumstances, we choose to adapt differently. no two people are the same, that is why there are fraternal twins, and even twins who are identical can never behave the same.
the personality they pick when they get out of the situation differs, due to to all the factors that peple have given you in the other questions you asked about personality : genetics, the people you habg out with during the situation, the environment, and also self talk, that is the things you tell yourself at any given time. for instance, my brother and i are sent to the same school, we go thru the same curriculum, same teachers, but at the end of the school syllabus, we get different grades, just as you say, all because i told myself that school is a waste of time and am just going coz my parents ssaid i should go. i also hang out with people who think the same way i do, there is no possible way for me to be as good a student as my brother at the end of the day
best regards

As Webmaster say, it's in the genes---Genes trump nurturing in the parent's rearing of the child/ren! A toss of the hundreds of thousands of genes, each chance is a totally new one. Also, re role orientation, I've read that the mother's estrogen and testosterone mix can/does influence the range of femininity and on into masculinity.

it also has to do with their indivual experiences. remember, even the birth order has an impact on how the kids grow up. just as one person may like apples and another dislikes green beans, it may have been due to the fact that all the sweets were gone and only apples were left to eat or the older sibling made sure the younger sibling got more green beans to eat.

But he grew up to b a model citizen, nevertheless & is doing his Ph. D. in the Presidency now.

We are still individuals. The order of birth, the friends we have, what is happening in the world as we grow, there are also probable differences in how all of you were treated even if it isn't really obvious. Also, drugs can really throw off how people will be. That is really sad.

There may be some genetic factors at work. The siblings may inherit personality traits belonging to different relatives, not just their parents.

All else held equal, the only thing left if genetics. Just as siblings can look different, they can also have different personalities.
