I believe that God had a role in the founding of the United States. It was the Pilgrims that came here in search of religious freedom that got the ball rolling. For those that say no, we could have easily lost the revolution, I say EXACTLY. How does a rag tag army of colonists defeat a professional army that was the superpower of it's time? Read the history of the revolution. There was no reason, on paper, that the colonists should win. Some call it luck, I call it Devine Intervention.
Have we been perfect examples? Hardly. We've made our share of mistakes along the way, but everyone must admit that this country has been blessed above other nations in the world.

I believe the founding of America was the greatest social experiment so far attempted. The idea that the proletariat should have anything to say about how it is ruled was still a new idea, and the founders of America must have been some of the greatest thinkers of all time to construct a political system that has survived the natural tendencies of humankind. Of course, God played a role. At the time, even more than today, people were guided in their actions by fear of retribution in the afterlife and by the belief that a judgmental God was always watching. If one could only convince a person that God willed a thing, or that God was on his side, one had complete control of that person. Without the idea of God, the idea of Democracy, and the willingness to die to defend it, could never have been sold.

This nation is superior in many ways to other nations. Why do you think millions of people come here legally and illegally every year? Thats not speculation...its fact.
If God played a role in it, so be it... but none of us can prove that. We can only base our opinions on what we personally feel made this nation so great.
If you have faith in God... you know the answer to this question... Its a no brainer.
Some would call it divine inspiration... some would call it luck.
Either way, the people who see us as some kind of Evil, Corporate run Entity... will always give the thumbs down to those who believe God did inspire our forefathers and our nations status as a superpower in the world today.

In America, Enlightenment philosophy (which itself was heavily inspired by deist ideals) played a major role in creating the principle of separation of church and state, expressed in the religious freedom clause of the First Amendment to the Constitution. Founding Fathers who were especially noted for being influenced by such philosophy include Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Cornelius Harnett, Gouverneur Morris, and Hugh Williamson. Although these men were members of traditional Christian denominations (Hugh Williamson was a Presbyterian and the rest were Episcopalians), their political speeches show distinct deistic influence. Other notable Founding Fathers may have been more directly deist. These include James Madison, John Adams, possibly Alexander Hamilton, Ethan Allen[32] and Thomas Paine (who published The Age of Reason, a treatise that helped to popularize deism throughout America and Europe). Elihu Palmer (1764-1806) wrote the "Bible" of American deism in his Principles of Nature (1801) and attempted to organize deism by forming the "Deistical Society of New York."

Our founding fathers were all followers of a religious faith. If you're implying "divine intervention," in my opinion, NO.
We could have easily loss the Colonial war to secede from England, had we not gotten some valuable allies to fight on our side. We had France, who gave us $$, arms, and men to aid in our fight against England. The greatest victory, the battle of Yorktown, was a combined 2-prong attack by both American and French forces.

Well...I believe that every country is unique. America may be a "leader" in a lot of things, but other countries are superior in a number of other ways.

God Created the Earth and ALL that is within it....so
Literally logic tells me that God has a hand in founding all countries...........
Were they God fearing men ,only God can be the judge of that.....as He will be of us all I guess
One thing I always tell me kids and this could apply to countreis as well
If you have been given much.....much will be expected of you...........not just in wealth but in everything....justice ,education ,morals etc.....
Yes America is Unique......Russia is Unique......Canada is Unique....Britain Unique...India ...an so on .........
Independantly each place superior in their own right.....
Who is better???....( in what)
Who Is more Intelligent?? ( who would be the wisest to judge this)
Who Is more Powerful?? ( Miltary power or Brain Power?)
Oh so many ...who,what,why's
Incidently most Countries ( including NZ where I was born)...claim founding fathers or early settlers with visions....modern word=Politicians...
...all great men...still in Gods Sight ....men....( and women )...not gods.....lets honor their work then focus on the one who created them and you an me.....
Merry Christmas all !!!!

God didn't play a direct role in the founding of the US, but Christians did. They just brought their beliefs with them
