you need a SUPER steady hand and you have to lightly press it on your eyelid and sweep it across your upper lash line at a medium speed...do not do the lower lash line (it is way too hard and you wind uo looking like a racoon)
if all else fails, wash it off and use a pencil liner

Liquid eyeliner
Now with liquid eyeliner (I find) that the line quality is much more versatile than the rest of the eyeliners. I can easily create a thin line then a very thick line. I prefer liquid.
The trick with liquid eyeliner is to use every part of the brush. Start off with the tip to create a very thin line, then use the flat side of the brush to create a more dynamic thicker fluid line. It is very fun so I encourage you to experiment. Have a bottle of eye makeup remover in hand because mistakes will happen. again practice makes perfect! =)

First I would practice until you get the hang of it. With a finger put you it at the outside of the eye and pull the skin back towards your hair line. Now you have one eye open and one eye close, the eye lid of the eye that is closed, should be nice and easy to put the liner just right against the eye lash. The best eyeliner that works good, is the liquid eye liner pencils. It is a nice fine tip, not the brush tip that some times gives you a nice glob of liner.

Liquid liners that come with a brush tip are very hard to apply. You can try one of the liquid eyeliner pens....they are way easier to apply, but the product doesn't last as long as the traditional liquid liner...What I mean is, the pen might last two months where the liquid liner with the brush might last four.....

it's not the easiest type of eyeliner to put on, even tho it stays on the best. i honestly recommend that you use something else, it is a VERY harsh eyeliner. especially if you don't have experience in putting it on all the time, and even then most of the time when people wear it... .it just doesn't look right.
here is what i do: i buy a very dark powdered eye brow filler and a brow brush (it has very short stiff brushes) i then wet the brush tip and brush it along the brow filler powder and line my eyes with that, staying as close to my eye lashes as possible. if it's still a little damp i fan it and then as soon as it dries it will stay on very well for a long time.
