It's good that your deciding to report this!

He will be tried in Court and depending upon how severe the Judge and court system think that it is, will decide the severity of the consequences.

He could be fined alot of money and put into jail. And yes he will be put on the sex offenders list, which people can easily access online, to keep their children safe.

The process could start with him simply going then to court, then the consequences that the court decided.

I wish you the best, and please you and your cousins stay away from him!

I hope this helps I'll be praying for you!

merry Christmas

Ok, you are another person asking a question in the wrong forum and without the appropriate information in order to answer the question.

First, every country, state and province has different laws pertaining to this situation. You have not stated where you live, so the answers can never be correct: or, if there is a correct answer then it is accidental, but you would never know that it is correct since you don't know the laws of your locale.

Secondly, you need to go to whatever local services you have for sexual abuse to get the correct answers. You will also need to be counselled on what happened to you, and how it is impacting your decision to report your cousin, etc.

This IS NOT simply a matter of reporting and all will go away. There are serious consequences for many people in the reporting AND not reporting of this cousin's actions.

You need personal guidance in making the right decision at the right time, and YAHOO ANSWERS IS NOT THE APPROPRIATE PLACE to get it.

report him.

as you suspect, child molesters do not get over their secret addiction on their own. all they do is go looking for more victims. and more. and more.

an investigation will be conducted by the appropriate police or social service agency in your state. you will be interviewed. your other cousins will be interviewed. his 9 year old daughter may be interviewed.

the course of the investigation after that depends on what the interviews have discovered. there will only be a trial if the DA believes there is enough evidence.

***
for yourself, you need to report this.

you can not begin to properly handle the psychology involved [your psychology] until after you have told the truth about what happened. Then, and only then, can the aftereffects you feel and recall be dealt with.

google will find your state's/province's reporting mechanism. I know that the one in Florida is a toll free number that operates 24/7/365.

Truthfully:

He will be investigated, but probably not prosecuted since there will be no forensic evidence to back it up. Your other cousins may be interviewed as a precaution, to ensure that they're okay.

Will he go to jail? Most likely not, because there is no proof (see above).

What should you do? DISCUSS THIS WITH YOUR PARENTS. I know it's hard, but it's the right thing to do.

Make sure you're taken care of as well. Some counseling would be a good idea.

P.S. I have been there.
