What do you think, does Christmas and booze mix? Should Adults in the family drink hard liquor at Christmas? Would it maybe loosen things up and make people a little less stiff talking to people they rarely see and have little in common with.

my answer would be no. having been raised in a household where booze and abuse was king, and every holiday was nothing more than a reason to get drunk as possible i try not to serve much alcohol at all.
liquor brings out the worst in many people, the arrogance starts to show, the surly behavior, the violent tendancies, the slutty behavior, falso bravado and the tall stories that come up.......none of it is appropriate for family get-togethers and in my opinion the holidays are supposed to be about family.
we have wine and punch and hard liquor on hand but all are served with a very light hand and no one is allowed to drink to excess.

Well, Christmas is a time for relaxation and laughter and just have an all out good time, so I guess it would be okay... but you gotta work the day after so its not a good idea to get totally drunk!

You can drink all you want, as long as you don't endanger others by driving, or by doing something else crazy.
