I realize that this will generate lots of thumbs down, but, it's not the fault of CEO's that jobs are being exported overseas. Labor unions have priced the cost of labor out of the market. Every two or three years, unions renegotiate there contracts. If the company disagrees, the union will strike. The company will capitulate to the union's demands for more money (I know that retirement benefits and insurance issues are also demanded in place of wage increases, but they still COST the company money) The company must raise the selling price for the item they produce. Eventually, the consumer will not pay that price for that product. So, how does the company produce that product for less money so the public will buy it again? It must reduce costs. It can reduce the cost of labor dramatically by sending the manufacturing of the product to a country where workers will work for less money. Why is this so hard to understand? The company MUST MAKE A PROFIT if it is to stay in business, otherwise it will go bankrupt. Is that what unions want?
BTW corporations pay for the unemployed. It's called unemployment insurance.

Actually that might be a good idea. Cons whine about public control of things so if we put paying for unemployment due to shipping jobs off shore by those corporations than they should be responsible to help those displace by sending those jobs off shore.

exported jobs allow countries like China to buy Boeing airplanes and WinTel computers.
would the executives of those companies get a subsidy because of the jobs they provide building exported products?

get real -- you already know that a stagnant economy because an employer has to keep his people fully paid for life leads to the European disease -- employers would refuse to hire anyone and then the unemployment rate doubles.

Should the left wing politicians and union bosses who pushed for excessive compensation over fair compensation also have to pay since they made it clear to corporations that they couldn't be competetive if they stayed in the US. Stop making it harder to do business here with over regulation of every facet of business and maybe they will stop leaving.
