Since everyone thinks the Pats will be an elite team and famous should they win it.I want to know what if they go undefeated in the regular season and lose in the playoffs, does then make them infamous? And before you answer without thought I do not believe anyone can say no when we all know football fans would be talking about such a collapse for years to come!

it will not make them infamous. because of the fact they would be the only team to go 16-0.

It would give Sportscenter something to talk about for years and years to come either way. If they lose next week it will blow over in a few years.
Think about it... if they go 16-0 and lose in the playoffs it will never be outlived. The same can be said if they go undefeated and win the Super Bowl. If they lose next week then in a few years people still may reference the team's success a couple of times during that years football team season, but not as much as the other two conclusions.

I don't know if it would make them infamous. But it would be pretty darn funny to see a team go undefeated in the regular season then end up losing in the playoffs. I wouldn't call it a collapse either. I could understand if they went like 10-0 to start and ended up losing their last 6 and missed the playoffs - that would be more of a collapse.

Nope it sure wouldnt. And IMO it wouldnt be considered a collapse unless they loss to the Browns or someone like that. But if the Chargers, Colts, Jags, or Steelers came in there and beat the Patriots by having a great gameplan, great execution, and just an all around great game then it would NOT be a collapse at all, it would be football. The Pats have shown they are beatable, the Eagles took them to the end, the Ravens had them down late, the Colts played them close, they are not unbeatable. Now had they blown out every single team every single game and then lost maybe, but thats not the case. Things happen. They shouldnt lose if you look at it on paper, but thats why you play the game b/c of the intangibles. What if LT is just on fire one game and comes out and runs wild for 250 yds with 5 TD's? And that is VERY possible for LT. I mean the odds are against it but its def. a possibility.

It would definitely be a huge collapse and I can't wait for it to happen. All I hear about is the Patriot's pursuit of perfection. If they lose in the playoffs, that is no longer perfection and therefore they would have went through all this media frenzy for nothing. They will go down as the greatest regular season team of all time but who cares about that. They will lose to the Colts in the playoffs and Peyton will again embarass the Patriots. Go Cowboys

Winning 16 games means nothing if they lose in the playoffs or super bowl,if that was the case, the Colts would be considered the best team ever with their many wins in the regular season

Nope.

first of all, they will have set the record for the regular season, and topped their own consecutive wins record.

second, they are already considered the dynasty of the decade by many, so they're not losing that with a single loss, even in the playoffs

third, it's a single loss, not like when a baseball team blows a 3 game lead in a best of seven series, or swoons down the stretch for several games, costing them a playoff berth.

the only thing they really lose is a shot at being the best team of all time. that's a shame for them, but I don't think it makes them infamous

bottom line? i think you may have too much drama going on in your life...

I think the Patriots will go undefeated but I'm not sure about the Playoffs. The Colts is one of the Patriots playoff rival team every year. Most of the time, the Colts vs Patriots determines who will win the Superbowl most of the time. Every single year they face each other and battle It off.

They would be a minor statistic for having won 16 regular season games. The Dolphin fans from 1972 would always be able to point out that they didn't do it all. Don't worry. They will

16-0 doesn't make any team infamous. Anything can happen in any game against any team.
