I got one for Christmas in a cup and have no clue how to take care of it.

It needs bright indirect light. Keep it in a place away from heating vents and cold drafts. They also require kind of humid conditions, so if your do not live in a humid place it is a good idea to mist it with a spray bottle once a day or whenever you can remember. Do not let them sit in water and stay soggy, so you need to pot it up in a pot that has holes in the bottom. Then water when the top few inches of the soil dries out.
