I've looked at the sites mentioned. So far, Seniorocity seems the most promising.

I had a hard time finding a good site and just joined Seniorocity [www.seniorocity.com].
The people there are great, and it's a wonderful community.
I highly recommend Seniorocity!

We agree with the other lovely people here on the Seniors section....you have all you need here and 1 of the groups Chip Monk suggested which is called "thisgroupisforyou" is a good place to meet up and chat. That is a group that has all age groups but from what we've noticed those in the older age bracket are the most contributors.
Baba Yaga suggested a group called "eons". If you are in the US then it will be ok for you to join but if, like us, you are in the UK or elsewhere you won't be able to join that particular group as they only accept US zip codes.
We've been coming here since August and in that time we have grown to know quite a few people and everyone has been very kind and helpful. We wish you all the best and maybe we'll see you in a group and most definately on here. Good luck in your search for a group, if you can't find anything to suit what you are looking for then just kick off your shoes, get settled and comfy and stay here on the Seniors section - there's always plenty to keep you amused/interested. x

You will find this is a great social network if you just hang around. We are all planning on to meet in person next summer, so we can put faces with our names on Yahoo. You can email most any of us with your own questions and concerns. Plus, we have a few group sites that have been created as a spin off from here. Welcome!

I have enjoyed it here. The people seem friendly and respectful.. A few other places i have been have been juvenile. Juvenile is all right at times. but not all the time.

You might look at eons.com and thirdage.com. Like everything else, you get out of it what you put into it.
