Nice combination of history and medicine.
First - septicemia means microorganisms - usually bacteria - circulating in the blood stream. Many diseases can be associated with "septicemia."
Historically, you want to look up the "Black Death" or Bubonic Plague which came to Europe from Asia in ~ 1347-1348 AD.
The plague bacillus / bacterium is called yersinia pestis.
Writers often describe the plague is three forms : bubonic, pneumonic, and septicemic.
Bubonic refers to "buboes" which are lymph nodes masses full of pus and bacteria usually in the armpit or groin areas.
Pneumonic refers to the pulmonary or lung involvement version of the bacterial disease. (Like pneumonia)
Septicemic refers to to the bacteria circulating in the blood. This type is so severe that almost all patients died before antibiotics were available in the 1950s.

So look up the Black death or Black Plague or Bubonic Plague and go from there with your project.

As for which country - - Hmmmmm. Many modern European countries such as Italy and Germany did not exist as countries in 1347-48. Constantinople is the first place in Europe where septicemic plague (yersinia pestis) showed up in 1347. It arrived by ship from the Crimea - - carried by the fleas on black rats. (The plague bacillus also killed the rats and the fleas, but not before the disease spread.) But the plague was also known in China at that time. It's much easier to look up the European effects of the Black Plague.
Good Luck with the project.
