would or would not do the same? P.S. What percentage of humans are cannibals?

Don't know about the cannibals but U.S. citizens have already been shot during protests. It happened at Kent State during the Vietnam war protests. I believe four people died. Yes, it can and has happened here.

Considering the percentage of abortions that take place in America, cannibalism may be a problem that the main stream media has to address. As to the troops, I trust that they will do the right thing, but when looking at the protesters on the left, I have grave doubts in their intentions and motives. No; I don’t think that American troops will gun down innocent people like China did in Red Square.
The American troops have more quality and character than most individuals and have excellent skills in decision making in times of peril.

I am now as I have always been.... EXTREMELY confident that the U.S. Military has only our best interests at heart because they are us. They protect our National Security interests keeping in mind a delicate balance between freedom of speech and protecting us from a violent few. In my not so humble opinion... If the military is being called in to deal with protesters in this day and age...it is most likely NOT the message that the protesters are trying to say that is the problem, it is the way in which they seek to express that opinion with violence. If they become violent and are encroaching on the rights of others...then they should be dealt with harshly. There are plenty of ways to get a message 'out' without becoming violent. There simply is NO NEED for it. We have so many communication tools at our fingertips to express ourselves.
It is our basic human right to not care, to ignore, and not listen to these messages that all these 'groups' wish to communicate. If the message is worth listening to...people will eventually listen. However, we don't it crammed down our throats.
Americans are on information overload. So, when these protesters protest as a hobby more than as a true cause that deserves attention...can they blame people for turning a deaf ear their way?
We have come a long way in the art of protesting. I think the Civil Rights marches showed us the right and wrong way to handle these types of things. But.....one thing it showed us for sure.... is that when a huge crowd of passionate people get together in unification for a cause....it can get out of hand very quickly on both sides.
I think the police and military have done their part in inventing weaponry that only stuns or bruises instead of permantly injuring someone. Which would you prefer?.... a rubber bullet shot at your torso or a billy club to the head? I guarantee the rubber bullet will hurt, but you would recover fairly quickly from it. Head injuries will have you drooling and relearning your alphabet.
I, as always, support my country and my military.

Merry Christmas
and God Bless the USA

There has been past situations where protests have come under fire and citizens have been hurt or killed. But, I don't believe any of these situations had the military involved. Usually it's the local and state law enforcement and sometimes the national guard.

Some protests have not been lawful, or they got out of control. There has been several marches on Washington without any violence. It depends on the crowd, their mood, and whether or not they are under the influence.

In other countries, the dictators have killed protesters so they can stay in control. With out balance of power, I doubt if the military would ever be call out to subdue violence.

i think it would depend on the nature of the protest. if the protestors are acting in violent or physical rebellion, then firepower, not lethal of course, would most likely be used to subdue the protestors before they can inflict harm on any innocent bystanders. by non-lethal, they could use pepper guns, swat force (shields and "night sticks"), or an assortment of other weapons not meant to kill.

Also, I'm not sure how many cannibals are currently "active" in the United States, but the thought of any is just creepy. I'm sure there are more than we'd like as a country to be here.

It's rare in the U.S. and it was by no means the intention of the local, state, or federal government to shoot a bunch of hippies in Kent State. It's a public relations nightmare to shoot your opposition! It ultimately came down to a logistical loss of command and control, human error, and simply a tragedy. Nothing more. As far as cannibals, we all eat human skin in the form of dust and we cannibalize our old blood cells in our body to make new ones.

During the 60s we had far more civil unrest than we have now. I have complete confidence that our voluteer military is far superior to the draftees of that era and would not shoot civilians unless fired upon.

Not sure about cannibals but I have faith that the military would not obey a unlawful order, such as masacre this group of law abiding peaceful protestors, etc.

You've never heard of Kent State, have you? Look it up. Cannibals are far less than one tenth of 1% of humanity, and getting fewer all the time.

I wish people could spot the difference between the U.S. and Venezuela... but unfortunately you're all too busy griping about how terrible your lives are here, so yeah...
