I used caster oil ... to try and have my last daughter on my schedule. It did NOT work. Ohhhh I went into labor....and everyone got excited but .... Nothing happened except I had intense labor for about 6 hours. She was not ready to come and she did not come.

Perhaps if you are dialated and if you are in labor anyway it might help but frankly I would not recommend any one do that. The labor is so much more intense and it was hard and fast but resulted in NO BABY. Rebecca Lynn came about 18 days later, when she was ready to come.

Perhaps there might be a reason to take the caster oil, but I cannot think of a good one. If you have to be in labor already for it to work, it seems pointless.

Many blessings to you and your son.
Spend time with him and read to him a lot from the time he is born, until and even after he begins reading to you. Also, remember to always tell him how smart he is. He will reach for the stars if you do.

Best wishes,
Ro

I read a lot about it on Monday, I didn't find anything that says you need to be.
I tried using it yesterday out of desperation myself (I am 40 weeks and really feeling it, very sore and tired) but it did nothing at all, you wouldn't even have known I'd taken it.

Like the others I'd suggest waiting a few more weeks but good luck.

"Dilated," not "dialted."

"i'm 38 wks prego and i;m ready to have him."

It is a good job, then, that all the do-it-yourself induction methods are wives' tales.

"Elective induction increases the risk of giving birth to a baby that is near-term (born between 35 and 37 weeks, even when it seems the baby should be 38–40 or even 42 weeks by dates). In spite of their physical appearance, near-term infants are physiologically and developmentally significantly less mature than full-term infants and are at increased risk for mortality and morbidity in the newborn period (Wang, Dorer, Fleming, & Catlin, 2004). The near-term infant is at increased risk for temperature instability, hypoglycemia, respiratory distress, apnea and bradycardia, and clinical jaundice (Wang et al., 2004). The baby's difficulty in coordinating suck/swallow and breathing abilities contributes to problems with feeding; subsequently, poor feeding adds an increased risk of hyperbilirubinemia (Sarici et al., 2004). Near-term infants are 2.4 times more likely than full-term infants to develop significant hyperbilirubinemia (Sarici et al., 2004). Even “well” near-term infants who have a normal hospital stay are at increased risk for hospital readmittance, most frequently due to inadequate feeding and to jaundice..."

If you love your baby, leave the birthday up to your baby. She or he could easily need another MONTH to mature.

YOU are ready to have HIM ? I think you got this the wrong way around
You need to wait till HE is ready to come out !

The body will adjust itself once the baby is ready to make an appearance, do not try to force an early birth, or he will not neccessarily be fully ready, and that can cause problems.

If you have concerns talk to your doctors, don't try old wives tales that may or may not have any effect.
