We had all agreed that when she reached 40 that she would have to find a place of her own, but still it is difficult.

I know exactly how you feel. When our son moved out at age 6, we were miserable and still are. But like he said on that misty autumn morning, "Love you Mom, Dad, but everything I ever needed to learn ... I learned in kindergarten." Be thankful you've had your little girl at home for as long as you have. My son is now 14 and never calls. Mr. Big Shot fancy-shmancy pants. Always too busy to call or even come home for Sunday dinners. I gave birth to that boy!!

I really dunno how you could put up with a 40 year old teenager for that long!! If it would had been me , I would have said good bye by the time she turned 30, put my house up for sale, moved and not leave a forwarding address

you will just have to deal with it. there is no way out of it and she needs to live her own life and may her own way in the world
