No.

You have to love Liberals. Always ready to buy and sell people.

The Democratic Party, pro-slavery for over two hundred years!

No---but it all depends on whose selling it and when.

I imagine Saddam would have gladly given it to the USA for a nominal fee ---once the bombs started falling again.

And the price would have dropped dramatically once Ground Forces ran across the border.

Before that he was more than eager to try to bluff his way out of a war.

However, Saddam was offered a deal---leave IRAQ within a certain time frame of around 24 hours or so to avoid war.

Saddam and his sons were rich--several billion dolllars in cash on hand plus whatever they had in accounts around the world. But they also had power--life or death over millions of people. They also had nowhere to go. They also believed Bush---Like Clinton was bluffing and would not risk war--at least a ground war.

They were wrong!

If the war cost 2 trillion--and Iraq has the second largest known oil reserves in the world---I still don't know if that 2 trillion would be enough. After all oil is about $90.00 a barrel right now--and it will go higher.

But this war was also about commitment. The USA may very well be spending an ungodly amount of money in this venture.
and thousands of lives. But the cost to lose this war would be far greater.

The only way to lose is to give up and go home. This will provide the Radical Islamist with a victory that they will use to recruit other radicals around the world.

It will give other countries a reason not to help the USA because they know the USA will abandon them after a few deaths of it's soldiers in a fight. This should scare the hell out of our ALLIES.

It will also give other enemies around the world an opportunity to attack the interest of the USA. After all---the USA will not risk the lives of it's soldiers so why not take it's stuff. Or the stuff of it's weaker allies that have signed treaties of alliances with it.--After all the USA is not going to help them. The liberals try to prove this every chance they get--they have voted something along the lines of 50 times to withdraw the soldiers from IRAQ.

Each of those votes shows our allies and our enemies that are political system can be influenced by propaganda.

You can bet both of them have taken notice and are going to do their best to influence us in the future.

You don't provide any evidence for your argument, but even if we were able to just buy Iraq, this administration would have still preferred to invade because they want other countries to get involved such as Iran. And if they bought it there would be equal resistance against it because like the war, it is something we should have never gotten involved with.

UPDATE: Really? Because nobody will provide you with a Yes or No answer, so I just answered it as if it were yes.

It is not true, because with old Saddam around and violating all 18 UN Resolutions, it would have
been impossible to buy Iraq. We would eventually
would still have to go to war to defeat Saddam and
his two sons and the Baath Party.

The economic sacrifice is obviously incomprehensible to most people. The Vietnam war cost $370 billion to kill 2 million alleged communists. That`s about $185 thousand apiece to kill people who would have been glad to work for us for fifty cents an hour.

For the 2 trillion it will eventually cost us, I suspect we could have bought all rights to their oil and given Saddam a lifetime contract to oversee the business & handle anyone who gets in our way

Probably so but that still wouldn't stop them from doing random suicide bombings - Hey if we bought them maybe we could put out special stipulations suggesting that they are only allowed to do random bombings over there? That wasn't nice sorry.

We probably could have bought it but there would still be people waging Jihad in the name of ALLAH.
