Drive on the left, as in the U.K, but, beware, the Cypriots have their own, unique way of driving!! There's not much traffic on the roads...and you can drive for miles on the motorwaywithout passing any traffic....but, if you r driving by a Cypriot...just watch what they're doing!! They will pull up at traffic lights on red....but slowly inch forward, so that by the time the lights change to gree.....theyre across the lights anyway!! And ...if the lights are on red....but there is not traffic around....they will just cross the lights! They will happily fill the tanks with petrol....with a cigarrette in their mouth!!! And their parking leaves a lot to be desired!! All said though....if you break down, they will happily come to help, and will take you home, or will get your car sorted out in no time!! We live in Xylofagou, not far from the Dekelia base ( great chippie there)

Just a short drive from Agia Napa, Konnos Bay, and Protaras/Fig Tree Bay! We love it here....and I'm sure you will too!! Good luck!!

Hi, They drive on the same side as UK (left). I always drive when i am on holiday over there. Watch out for the police on the Motorways, (well more like dual carriageways). They are very keen for speed traps and they just appear from nowhere. I love driving over there. Mind you i just love Cyprus.

As a former British territory - on the left but don't expect the same standard of driving as you may have been used to in the UK or Germany. And beware, the local plod are apt to stop you for a document check just for the hell of it. I should know I lived and was driving there for seven years in the 90's.

On the left. If your car has the steering wheel on the left, you'll have to have it moved to the right if you want to keep it in Cyprus for more than a few weeks.

Same as in the UK. If you're in the British Forces you should know that.

I just wish I could understand one thing. Why do the Brits like to drive on the left? While the rest of the world likes to drive on the right? Some one please explain this to me. Please. Pretty Please.
