im talking about real music from the late 60's to 80's what band do you say is the best classic rock band ever??? would you say... The WHO?..maybe....DEEP PURPLE?......The beatles-NO THEY SUCK. The Stones? Genesis? FLOYD? Blue Cheer? CREAMMMMMMmmmmmmm?
I'd say mine is either Zeppelin or Pink Floyd

I vote The Who as the best "Rock and Roll" and The Beatles for their wide spectrum of original works.
I wouldn't put Pink Floyd in the "Rock band" category as this is a bit of a generalisation. They are in another category namely "Progressive Rock" which I hate. I'd call them Timeless in a class of there own. (le; same as Queen class of their own)
And this discussion of great bands can go on for ever.

Fleetwood Mac would have to be somewhere on that list
Blue Cheer (Summertime Blues) and Deep Purple (Hush) are pretty much one hit wonders and I wouldn't count them, and Genesis is not counted by me either.
Cream is more R&B, great muscians, but . . .
Floyd, great musicians, but . . .
Okay, wtf you mean the Beatles suck? No supper for you tonight.
The Stones are probably one of the richest group of artists ever. I like them a lot.
"Greatest" is elusive.

I always enjoyed Boston too.

with each and every song so inherently different from the others, no two ever sound the same.
also, IMHO..pink floyd was good, but drastically overrated
