Evolution says that opposite genders get attracted towards each other to have sex & procreate. In short everything happens or is designed to happen so that a species can procreate & thus pass on their lives to the next generations. If this is true how do you explain HOMOSEXUALITY since it doesn't procreate? Some people even have sex with infants incapable of conceiving or with animals ? Why do they do this things ? Also what about those couples who have sex only with protections to avoid conception. Why do nature produce such humans if they are not interested in procreation ? Or even if such humans are created why they are filled with sexual urge ?

The diversity of a species is the main thing which enables the species to evolve
Humans diversity is one of the things which has enabled us to become what we have
some people are black, white, blue eyed, brown eyed, fat, skinny, strong, big, small, tall, short, gay, straight, etc
In a survival situation some of these characteristics may be of an advantage or disadvantage depending on the situation
I think evolution explains why gay people are a minority and straight are a majority, being straight is definitely an advantage in evolutionary terms, otherwise we would go extinct.

You are wrong in your initial statement about evolution. It says nothing of the sort. Homosexuality has been observed in over 400 different species and it is very successful in helping the continuation of the species.

Half a century ago, Konrad Lorenz observed that male geese who bonded and paired for life would take on a female each season and the three of them would hatch and raise the goslings. They were far more successful than any of the heterosexual couples around. In many animal species, only the alpha male and female breed, the rest of the group helps raise the young. Homosexual pairs are part of these groups. Even in humans, homosexual men and women help their siblings with their children thus ensuring the preservation of their genes.

Homosexuality has always been around in humans, it is nothing new. It has survived despite persecution and capital punishment (still seen in some countries). Every homosexual person is the result of heterosexual intercourse. It is the genes carried by straight people that produce gay people. Many people other than homosexual people do not have children and yet the human population of the planet exceeds 6 billion. I think all the non-breeders, including gays, should get a government bonus for saving the planet.

One possible explaination for male homosexuality follows in part from the concept of the Grandmother hypothesis.
Since there are more males that will exist than reproduce, the existence of homosexuality may play a role in kin selection which would still increase the indirect component of fitness of that individuals genes. Much in the same way a grandmother living within a family group of apes has the ability to increase the chances of grandchildren surviving and thereby increasing her fitness, so would a non reproducing male.

The rest of the paraphilias are just that.

Your statement, "In short everything happens or is designed to happen so that a species can procreate & thus pass on their lives to the next generations," does not accurately summarize the theory of evolution, because you used the word "design". Creation by design is a different theory. Evolution is messy and non-linear.

I always thought that those members of the species who do not procreate are nature's way of keeping that species from overpopulating the earth. Some species may have more homosexuality or non sexuality than others, due to not enough predation on their particular species. Even with natural disasters, there are more humans on this planet than resources - or perhaps that is a maldistribution?

There is no evidence from nature that humans have to be perfect. There is no evidence from religion that God made humans perfect. There is no evidence from society that they can be taught to be perfect. Just look at all the idiots who don't understand the most basic science facts. In an ideal world we would all be equally smart. Instead we have smart people and total morons. No big deal.

There is, of course, a simple explanation for homosexuality. But since I have absolutely no faith in your ability to look beyond your hate, I won't take the time to explain it to you.

Merry Christmas!

The human mind is a strange thing, kupo.

Nobody said that everyone had to live their lives according to how evolution works, if we all did that there'd be no modern medicine or technology. Sexuality, as well as fetishes and such are just parts of who we are, personality isn't exactly an aid in survival, it's just something cool that humans developed. If you see something wrong with that and you prefer to believe that personality is a god-given thing then that's your problem, not mine, kupo.

I am NOT an evolutionist. I think people adapt, but intelligent design is more my style. I think people are people not from apes or the ocean.

However, even though I am not an evolutionist I can see your argument is flawed. I feel you make the same blin argument that you get so irritated with the evolutionists for. How do you explain homosexuality in creation terms if we were put here to procreate as man and woman. Yes as humans we uniquly gain pleasure from sex, however the main reason for marriage and sex is to create new life. God's will, evolutions outcome are both the same in this sense.

These are all very good answers, but heres something.

100, 000 years ago, mathematics was probably useless. but the genes (if there is such a thing) existed, because those people were good for other things. a tribe needs manythings, even things that dont exist yet, or it just might dissappear. it needs hidemakers, warriors, gentle people, violent people, madman for new ideas, and....gay people?....theres plenty of factors we dont understand......

You are under the asumption that there is one gene that decides sexuality. this is not the case.

homosexuality has been observed in thousands of animal species. It forges stronger bonds between groups of animals for example, which is an advantage.

and dont use the term "evolutionists" it makes you look like a retard.
