So far, every answer screams a resounding YES.

Look at any answer that mentions Jesus is glowing, oblivious, purple prose, ignorant of or apologist for the blood-stained history. One person says that it's not Christmas, it's people's stupidity. Stupidity in America? Surely, you jest. Another mentions the greed and overwrought commercialism and excessive consumerism, with one person coming to the defense of how consumerist dogma has become fascism. What a white knight in shining armor. Some say that it SHOULD be a time of great joy, but it never is. Spending time with our dysfunctional families for the sake of hanging roses on arbitrary titles such as "blood relative" and following mindless rituals. One person buying into Bush speak and party lines by saying the word "free." One person didn't even answer the question, they just said, "Have a blessed Christmas." So far gone. A person mentions the media, which is also a major problem in the USA.

You're the liar, smsmith500, because we lie best when we lie to ourselves.

the u.s.a faces many difficult problems...the celebration of a myth is but one of them.

Good question!
I wish you would have voiced YOUR opinion on this.

I think people, including myself make Christmas out to be something its not meant to be. It's celebrated for the wrong reasons! We've turned into something thats about spending money, and then spending some more. And maybe that's also why people get so depressed around this time.
It disappoints people when its not something it used to be.

Its about family and celebrating the birth of Jesus!!!

Nope. The mind set that allows this question does. Climb off the soapbox and relax for a day. Enjoy your family and the fact that you are free to celebrate (or not) any way you want. And BTW- Merry Christmas.

Anymore it seems to me that people like to make wrong choices and have the wrong attitude about what is right and proper. I know what Christmas is all about. Do you?
Merry Christmas!!
EDIT:: No! Christmas is not to blame. The problems lies with the choices and attitudes of the people. Most people are just plain stupid any more.

No. Becuse Christmas is the time to celebrate the birth of the son of God who came to forgive our sins. So Christmas is a joyous time.
The fighting for gifts and all that other nonsense is not Christmas.

Christmas should be a time of great joy, a time to be with family and friends.

I would like to ask you what do you think is wrong with the USA

Why are you lying? I read the answers and most of them say no.Christmas shows what is right with America and from your question what is wrong with Liberals.

i celebrate jesus' birthday, this morning we all sat and sang happy birthday to Him. we ate breakfast and then i let my daughter open up gifts. I agree some may celebrate christmas but not go to church or even give Praise to Him. but i do and my family does and we always will :)

spending money is a bad thing?? really? seeing as we are a consumer nation, christmas is not only important, it's vital to our economy...i suppose you could make the argument that that in itself is "what's wrong with America", but the alternative is isolationism and super high prices..
