I would think so...
They have virtually the same players (which is a good thing).
They have Ellsbury who will play the whole year, as well as Bucholz and Lester.

Yes, I believe that the Red Sox will win the Pennant and World Series

I don't see how they can't, although the Yankees and Rays (yes the Rays) could contend for the Wild Card. Tampa Bay has an improved, young pitching staff with a great pitcher in Kazmir, and up and coming strikeout machines like Andy Sonnanstine and Jeff Niemann, and a promising closer in Al Reyes. Not to mention that they have kept good hitters in B.J. Upton, Carl Crawford, Rocco Baldelli, and the signing of Cliff Floyd.

Being a Yankee fan I would say they have a shot but so do Yankees, Angels & Indians but we will have to wait until they play all 162 games first. Tigers have a shot too & look good on paper but I still say they fail to win their division & lose out to the Indians & miss play-offs, again.

Beckett, Schilling, Dice K, Lester, Buchholz, Wakefield. Yes, a starting 6. Del Carmen, Okajima and Papelbon. As the great Yogi Berra once said, "Good pitching beats good hitting and vice versa."

As a Red Sox fan, of course I hope they do! They have virtually the same roster that won the WS last year. However, I think the Tigers are looking pretty good lately...I wouldn't be surprised if it was the Tigers who came out on top.
