She probably doesn't understand bikes. And why do you need permission? I've been riding 25 years and never an accident. But you have to prove you are responsible enough to ride in a responsible manner. If you are the kind of peron who acts reckelessly (not saying that you are, I don't know)then that might be her reason. Take the MSF class first to prove you are responsible and show her it's what you really want.

Your wife wont let you get a motorcycle because she wears the pants in the family and whatever she says you listen . "Balls said the Queen if I had them I would be King" In actuality you don't want a bike and your wife knows this so its your excuse not to get one otherwise you would of had one by now .A bike is only as dangerous as the person riding it /

If it isn't about the money, then it is probably because she knows how dangerous they can be and she is worried about your safety.
Or it could still be about money because she knows if you die then she won't be able to live off of your income anymore!
Take out a huge life insurance policy on yourself and then take a motorcyle safety class. Maybe that combination will make her feel better.
If not, oh well. I am sure she has done something you didn't want her to do so now you guys will be even.

Same reason you don't have a gun in the house. she is afraid of them. Go get you a motorcycle. She will be nervous and scared till she gets use to it. Life is to short to not experience what you want. Just be safe.

You going about this the wrong way.
This one of those give/take situations.
Buy the bike and get a One Million Dollar life insurance policy on yourself with your wife as the Beneficiary. Believe me, she will be encouraging you to ride the heck out of your new bike!

Your buying a motercycle and she will not let you ride it?
Whats her problem.... I bet you did not even buy the bike yet.
Are you wanting a bike real bad. because if you are you could be one of the lucky ones and come home alive.
I know many bikers and they seem real sucessful. How ever my own family the two guys gave up their bikes due to accidents and my one brother even gave up his snowmoblie after being plowed into by a drunk.. I am shocked he still has his boat.
I gave up my bike because I turned it over three times in one summer... I was too short to support an endura.
I also took a ride with my cousin and his front tire threw me about 15 feet off of the freeway. He was tossed to the curb too. There is allot of upkeep to making sure your bike is safe and especially safe for you. Its gotta fit like a good pair of Jeans.

It's the same reason women close their eyes during sex. They just can't stand to see a guy have a good time. That and cars give them a false sense of safety.

Go buy her one too or invest in a big bike with a side-car. All women love speed demons they just don't admit it. They are softer unlike us tougher nutz. Good luck I bought her a used 86 FLH The big is huge (she is 5'3") You do the math

Did you ever offer her to ride a motorcycle by herself ? perhaps she never enjoyed it. Dont insist but give her in position that she try it once and tell her alot about how much she must be careful during riding, then she will trust that you will be careful during driving. but if you dont like that she tries riding, dont blame her you have the same feeling as she does.
