Period cramps.
Yes, you know those.
I feel like I'm about to split right down the middle like some angst-ridden amoeba and I need some solution.
I've taken like three Midol in the past two hours and held a heating pad to my stomach. I'm about to go take a steaming shower to see if it helps.
If it doesn't, any remedies or tips you have to help alleviate the pain? They've kept me awake all night and I literally did not sleep at all.
Just lie there, curled into an impossible ball, and cursed my father for making me female.
So, if you have any suggestions to help, I would greatly appreciate them.

The Aleve is a good idea but trouble is, annoying as it seems, I'm allergic to Naproxen.
So, no cramps in one hand and hives, swelling and difficulty breathing in the other.
But thank you all for such wonderful feedback, my dad is making me an appointment with the doctor as we speak.

i had the same problem. i felt like i couuld throw up fire balls and vomit my guts! it hurt really bad. Maybe yours arent so bad, but still. pain releivers didnt help me at all. Try the shower or a wrm bubble bath. What cured me was the hospital because i had appendix problems,(if you couldnt sleep because of the pain and after all the remedys and pain releivers you take the pain is still there go see a doctor.)
Here are some good tips:
Regular exercise such as walking helps to prevent or at least reduce the severity of menstrual cramps for some women.
Herbal remedies such as Viburnum prunifolium, Scutellaria spp., and Cimicifuga raemosa have an antispasmodic effect that may reduce some menstrual cramps.
A warm bath filled with aromatherapy or a heating pad on your lower abdomen and back is often helpful for relieving menstrual cramping.
If you don't have a heating pad, you can make one by filling a sock (a men's tube sock works best) with rice and heating it in a microwave over for a few minutes
Talk to your physician if these tips do not help, there may be an underlying cause. Severe sudden cramps, vomiting, or fever may be a sign of a medical emergency, contact your physician immediately
Try massaging the area were the pain is.
also you can try to lay down in the bath tub and try to rest it usually helps.
if you still feel sharp pains curl up in a ball and call a doctor.
Peppermint tea and honey is GREAT!
DRINK LOTS OF WATER< IN SIPS THOUGH!
I hope i helped!

If you go to the doctors and explain they can either put you on the pill not for contraceptive reasons but because they make them lighter or give you some acid tablets which are really good.
You need a nice long hot bath/shower and a hot water bottle could try taking some ibuprofen you can take 3 in one go read the label for the amount of hours before the next 3 though.
That's the best i can tell you hope you feel better soon!

I'd recommend ibuprofen rather than aspirin unless one reason for so much cramping is that you're passing big clots. Aspirin is an anticoagulant. Believe it or not, moderate exercise can help,too--just try getting up and walking around. Birth control pills can also help, and such troubles tend to go away after you have a baby. Meanwhile, it would be a good idea to see a gynecologist.

Try taking naproxen sodium (Aleve) instead of Midol. You can also alternate Motrin and Tylenol, every 4 hours.
A hot, relaxing bath will make you feel better than a shower.
Make an appointment with your GYN. Cramps are normal, what you describe is not. You need professional help.
Good luck.

I'd recommend exercize or something that will help you get your mind off it. I used to have cramps like that where I wouldn't go to swim practice or dance but when I decided to go anyway I'd always feel a lot better afterward. You may feel a bit queezy at first but try a nice swim or do some slow yoga. Good luck!
also, curling up with some hot cocoa or tea and a good movie could be just what you need for a good nap!
and i recommend accedrin migraine. its fast and incredibly effective

Take it easy, relax and stay away from caffeine. Sometimes, I've heard, caffeine can make period cramps worse. Get a magazine or something, to keep your mind off of it.
Also, I would suggest going to the doctor. Usually, painkillers and/or a good night's sleep make you feel better. Seeing a doctor would probably be in your best interest.
No matter what, though, feel better! It's a command!

Seems like your doing everything. The Midol and the heating pad. Take the shower and lay down and take it easy. Hopefully it will go away.
Im sorry you are in pain....hope you feel better soon.

See your doctor, your doctor can precribe something for your cramps. A nice warm bath helps, and cuddle a hot water bottle on to your stomach to help the cramp. Take a painkiller tablet

Stay warm! Don't drink any 'iced cold' drinks, nor pop. Take a walk, when keeping yourself active, you tend to concentrate on the things your doing more then your cramps, and it helps loosen the muscles. I know how you feel girl! Oh and Midols suck, try Aleves, they're the best!

Keep your iron inktake increased as you pass a lot of blood during this time. A waterbottle should help ease the pain and warm milky drinks and if this fails take an aspirin. if all else fails take a healthy dosage of willy it will release hormonial imbalances and feels good too
