anarchy is not simply "no rules let's do whatever we want." it is a political ideology which i have studied and support. Anarchy is the idea that all forms of government become corrupt and take away freedom.

"All government is undesirable and unnecessary. There are no services provided by the state that the community could not provide itself. We don't need anyone telling us what to do, trying to run our lives, harassing us with taxes, rules, regulations, and living high on the hog off our labor."(Anarchist Youth Federation (AYF), Profane Existence #5, Aug. 1990,38).
"Early in the development of what we call civilization a few folks realized that they could live easily and grow rich by making other people work for them. These people used cunning or brute force to institute themselves as chieftans, shamans, kings or priests. Through threats and superstition they kept people in line. Now and then their subjects would revolt and they would either grant enough reform to placate them or be replaced by a new ruler. Such is the nature of government."(Felix, "Professor Felix's Very Short History of Anarchism"
"any system which holds as part of its philosophy the domination of one human by another holds the possibility of oppression." - Felix and Rat
"By refusing to be controlled you are taking your life into your own hands, and that is, rather than the popular idea of anarchy as chaos, the start of personal order... The state of anarchy is not a chaotic bedlam where everyone is out for themselves"(ibid).
"where individuals live with other individuals in trust and with respect." - Craig O'Hara
"anarchy does not simply mean no laws, it means no need for laws" Craig O'Hara

In stable states, the government has the monopoly of the means of violence -i.e. the army and the police- and if someone or a group of people tries to destabilize the established order then it is up to the army and the police to re-establish it.

A state of anarchy or chaos is reached when the government has lost its monopoly of the means of violence and is challenged by people who want to overturn a regime they see as unacceptable.

It is the mission of the government to make sure no one within its borders gets bigger guns and canons than it owns; therefore the strict control over the sale and export of military equipments throughout the world.

Anarchy is when the social contract is not in order, because there is no government to provide order by coexisting with the people, which is usually a result from a revolution against a government, usually ends in total turmoil, unless another new leader has ideas which are followed by the people

EXAMPLE: NAPOLEON! STALIN! Miguel Hildago..

anarchy is freedom from any rules or laws, if you destroyed the old order just to make a new one, that isnt realy anarchy coz you are creating something others will have to follow or obey

My definition of anarchy is a society without any government control, which is therefore a society devoid of any rules.

An esoteric concept, mostly to impress uninformed youth. Especially with it's cool looking symbol, and the quasi shock-value it holds to put free-enterprise loving, hard working and patriotic Americans ill at ease by questioning the value of democracy.

However, like most Utopian-type societies, it has no basis in reality.

i think anarchy occurs when the old order is challenged. If anarchy is successful, it will create a new beginning.
