Burnout usually occurs because someone operates at a high level of activity continuously. For example, a student who tries to juggle too much, and who decides to take courses during summer and winterim breaks to speed up the process may find that s/he needs a break, but can't take the time to do anything else. Also, since many students are trying to handle more than just schoolwork, issues with work or family problems may lead to burnout with academics because they can't properly recover from the other problems without having to focus continuously on school.

the main reason that students feel burned out is because they have a lot on their plate with school and a job if they have one, its not really being burned out its more stress than anything.

Most students feel burnt out because they smoked too much of the marijuana or they're just lazy, weak and can't handle the little bit of extra stress that undergraduate studies causes.
