Being from Champaign I want to believe the Illini will pull out the ultimate upset however the talent that USC has outweighs that of the fighting Illini so to answer your question No the Illini will not beat USC I'm sorry to say

Illinois is one year away from playing in that elite tier of teams. USC was arguably playing the best ball at the end of the regular season. Coach Zook will have gadget plays galore and try and match USC speed-for-speed, but the Trojans will have too much, USC 31, Illinois 17. The Illini is my early pick to win the Big Ten in 2008, though, and will be in the hunt for an appearance in the BCS title game.

Besides Georgia , USC is playing better than any team in the nation. Illinois will have their hands full when they meet but if they can beat Ohio State who's to say they can't beat USC ?

Absolutely. If Stanford can beat them, then the Illini can. However, the USC players may be amped up. Rumor has it that their paychecks didn't come in this week. They could be jacked up come game time.

Can USC defend the spread offense? If not, Illinois wins.

That money line is a good bet. The illini are good enough to beat anyone, and I give them a 50 50 shot. I wouldn't bet the house on the money line, but I would throw a couple bucks at it.
