after he downloads the music the ipod says no music but it is using his gb

you have to sync the music with itunes. Apple systems use AAC for their music file types, most songs you download off of file shares (such as limewire) are in mp3. So you need to use itunes to convert the songs to AAC so your ipod an pick them up.
