I would love for him to go back to the Steelers, but we already have a new head coach. I don't think I could deal with Cowher going to another team, it would kinda be like a slap in the face after all that he has gone through and done with Pittsburgh. We all appreciate him bringing us "One for the thumb" but to go somewhere else would be like him saying thanks for giving me my big break and keeping me around as long as I want but now I'm moving on without you. Know what I mean?

I think after all the seasons he's been coaching Cowher is entitled to take a break as long as he wants or until Carolina lets go John Fox , whichever comes first.

I understand how you feel, I would feel the same if I were a Steeler Fan. Now I'm not a Miami fan at all, but what a great match with The Tuna as GM and Cowher as head coach, now that's something to build on. Yea I know its too far fetched.

Since I'm a Niner fan, I wouldnt mind seeing Cowher replacing Nolan. I mean Nolan is a good defensive guy and Coordinator but he just doesn't have the people talent needed to be a head coach. I don't know if Cowher is ready to get out of retirement yet, he seems to be enjoying his CBS gig. Hey the Debartlo/York owners of the niners are from Pitt right, so it could happen but probably a long shot.

Yes, especcially being a Pittsburgh Steelers fan myself. I think that maybe he could start out in the front office or something, maybe even a defensive corrdinater when Dick LeBeau leaves. Then, when Mike Tomlin's contract is up, he is the head coach again, unless of course Mike Tomlin wins a Super Bowl before his contract is up. Personally, I like Bill Cowher's attitude a lot more than I do Mike Tomlin. I think that Mike Tomlin is too young and inexperienced. Maybe he should take the defensive coordinater spot and let Bill Cowher step in as head coach until Mike Tomlin is actually ready.

If the Steelers would have paid him what he deserved he would have never left. He will never coach in Pittsburg again and won't settle for anything less than a head coach job. I think he's waiting for the Carolina job to open up since it's close to home.

He is sitting out one more season and I would gather that the fire will be building back up inside him to get back on the sidelines. But he's in a position now to dictate terms to an owner & is not going to take any job. I also think he would be an outstanding college coach.

I'd like for him to come out of retirement and help coach the Chargers to a better season next year.
