The California public university system is generally oustanding, and UC-Berkeley is considered one of the great technological research universities in the world. On the other hand in California you can also find oustanding computer science departments at the community college level because there are so many qualified computer science professionals in California.

If you could get an appointment with your high school guidance counselor, he or she might be able to point you in the right direction. If not, ask your friends and your peers where they went/are going to school and for suggestions on schools for you to consider. Most people are almost always happy to share their educational experiences, both good and bad, with a friend or colleague.

Good luck.
