I'd just tell him I didn't want to fight and if he asked why I'd say "you'd kick my butt". Then I'd walk away and wait till I could sneak up behind him with a baseball bat and I'd beat his head in. Say "OOPS, I was wrong" and walk away again.

Be the peacemaker. Back down. Flatter him a bit. Admit that you are no fighter and have nothing to fight about. Do not call names. No matter how much he taunts you, no matter what he does, do not raise your fists, insist that if he strikes you will not strike back. There is a time when you have to use common sense to defend youself when you cannot do it physically. Best let the police know that this guy is after you.
Even the threat of physical violence is a criminal offense but you don't want to resort to that unless absolutely necessary and do not make any threats - at all - of any kind.

Just let him know he is boss, you have no arguement, you would rather have him as friend. You have to be calm and clear headed. No confrontation, threats or wise cracks.
It is tough. try to approach him o the side and see what he really wants. You are not in a really good position. Use the pen instead of the sword.

Ask him if knows the quickest way to the hospital, then leg it to your car, and run the bas***d over!

Alternatively, if in a 'pub' type situation, hit him very hard with a bar-stool, chair, pool-cue etc., but make sure you don't injure the little darling. If you do hurt him, when he gets up, he'll probably want to sue you.

The best option is to be always aware of what's going on around you, and avoid the situation in the first place.

Walk away from him if you can. If you can't, then you can try to defuse the situation by remaining non-confrontational and hoping he will lose interest in you when he realizes he can't draw you into retaliating verbally or throwing the first punch. But if you are forced to defend yourself, then his eyes are most vulnerable to attack. Sand, dirt, pepper spray, or your fingers.

If he continues to harass and threaten you, you can file a criminal complaint against him and seek a restraining order preventing him from coming within say 150 feet of you. You will need witnesses who corroborate your complaint or else you will not get your restraining order. Talk to the police about what you need for evidence and whether you can lawfully videotape him threatening you.

Bullies of this magnitude can't be physically beaten in most cases. They always prey on the physically weaker. But you can usually outsmart these guys, and if you put together a solid plan of action you get this guy arrested and prosecuted and restrained from harassing/threatening/assaulting you.

Good luck.

I'd make some comment about how Neanderthal man solved all his problems the same way but you've evolved since then...
Or how you'd love to take him on in an intelligent conversation but you make it a rule never to fight an unarmed opponent.
Or ask if he's chewing gum or did his neck just blow a bubble.

It's fight or flight time. You have to make a decision either to protect yourself or run. Go for the eyes, nose (both create tears, can't see, can't fight), throat is the softest spot on the body. Don't hit first, but if he puts his hands on you, you have the right to destroy him. The winner of the fight is not necessarily the best fighter, but the one who can take a licking and keep on ticking. Make an appointment just you and him. Translate your fear into adrenaline!

That's an easy one!!! You just keep walking to your car, and you get in, and then you leave. Which one do you think is more embarrasing: Worrying about some skinhead calling you chicken, or you getting stomped, and then having to explain to everyone at the hospital multiple times how you got gravel embedded in your face.

I would politely explain to him that i dont have a vendetta against him and i didn't do anything to start a fight. I would then proceed to explaining to the man that assaulting me in plain sight from the public would get him into alot of trouble and i would ask him if he wanted to get a beer. If worst came to worst. I would give him my all in a fight.

I doubt that would happen due to the superior reasoning skills i would have.
