and last but not least...
Dead.
In any case...he was an average actor that wanted to be a star, and almost made it. By all accounts that I've ever heard, he was a nice guy, wonderful human being, whom is now dead.
I will remember him fondly for his works, and the first 2 or three Superman films. Campy, but fun! (Anyone remember the live action Batman TV show filmed in the 60's?)

I was going to say, dead. Obviously your question has already evoked that response. However, on a more sincere note. He was a wonderful actor, a wonderful athlete and by all accounts a very good human being. Through his tragedy he led many to become more aware of spinal injuries and paralysis. I am sure because of what happened to him, valuable research was done that may help many other people.

A good actor who will be remembered for being an overcomer in spite of overwhelming challenges. And let's not forget his wife Dana who kept the family together and then tragically lost her battle with cancer. And now, bless their children who have their own challenges to face with life without their parents.
