Well, for what its worth, I'm in the same boat. At work on Christmas. About the only thing that is cheering me up now is the Holiday OT I'm getting for being here. You're in healthcare so I'm sure that the people need you where you are! I lost my Dad in June after a month long stay in the hospital. It would have been so much more difficult without the wonderful people who took care of him. It meant the world to us.

The spirit of Christmas is helping others who need the help. As a health care provider you may be bringing smile to number of sick people and also lessening their sufferings. It is a noble act. Certainly LORD will bless you. Love your work; cheers.

You know, Christmas really is just another day. I hope you have other times in your life that will be "Christmasy" to you!
Just think about all the family fights, bad gifts, etc. and be glad you are not part of the drama.
Or, remember this...
The troops in Iraq
Homeless people
Children with cancer (as you know)
Not happy thoughts...but it helps us to remember that we are very lucky in the big picture of life. Not to mention that there are people who would love to have a job and be working today. Rent the movie "The Pursuit of Happyness" tonight.
(((hugs)))
