Yankee fan here too.
I thought he was awful. Every answer he gave, and always gives, is so measured. He thinks of the exact, careful words he wants to use and says them. To me he comes across so phony it's amazing to me.
Jeter kind of does the same thing but doesn't come across as phony though.

I think A-Rod did that interview purely for PR reasons. He didn't throw anyone under the bus, except Boras, so in the long run, I dont believe that he hurt his image. There are 2 things A-Rod needs to focus on in baseball: his game and his rapport with the fans

He was very proffessional in that interview, and spoke the truth. Yeah he'll be a Yankee for the next 10! YEARS! that's a long time.

In my opinion, everything A-Rod says sounds staged. Usually, it sounds like he's reading off of an index card! He's one of the very best players in baseball right now, that everyone can agree to. But his interviews, speeches, etc. sound very "phony" and "fake".

I don't believe A-Rod changed any minds, the ones who liked him before the interview still like him and those that didn't like him before still don't. I guess we can call it a "PUSH".
