In the 1930s, they came out with "Frankenstein"[1931] (with an uncredited Boris Karloff as the Monster) and "Dracula" [1931] with Bela Lugosi parroting his lines because he spoke no English!

1932 brought us "The Mummy" and this time Boris Karloff was credited!

These were real shockers back then, as was "King Kong"[1933] This was followed by various sequels and wannabes like "Son of Kong" and "Mighty Joe Young"

1933 was also the year of "The Invisible Man" with Claude Raines.

In 1941, it was "The Wolf Man" with Claude Raines and, of course, Lon Chaney, Jr in the title role.

All of these were later re-made over and over again by studios all over the world, but most notably "Hammer Studios" of Great Britain. The Hammer films were so prolific, that they are now classics also!
