Gold is going at about 807 dollars for 1 troy ounce. That price is for gold bullion not coins, jewlery, and whatever else.

I am a little puzzled as to why one would want to buy 18kt . Usually it’s best to buy 22 or 24 Kt. For those who don't know, 24kt is 100% gold whereas 18kt has only 75% gold, but is good for making rings or bangles as the metal doesn't bend so easily. All precious metals are weighed using the troy system. One troy ounce contains 31.1 grams of a particular precious metal. In Bahrain, where I live the price of 1 troy ounce 18kt gold is about U$ 400, compared to about U$800 for 24kt. These are rough retail prices.
