Would this stocking be ok? Heres what I'm thinking:
1 or 3+ angels
-first question: how many?
5 mollies
5 platty's
7 rasbora's (if they get eaten it would be sad, but...)
1 pleco
is that not a good combination? are the livebearers not fit? I already have an adult molly, adult platty, 1 platty fry, and 1 royal pleco, and I'm trying to fit around them, I really love angels. If really needed I have an extra 10 gallon tank with neon tetra's, but I would love for it to be possible for this to work.

GTB, you sound pretty foolish right now, so i'm thinking that on a scale of 1 to 10 rating your stupidity 1 being semi smart, and 10 being full blown idiot, i'd say your around 9, with a 10 on rudeness

Thanks Mokey41! I only meant the one pleco I had. The people at the petstore said they would take it back when it got to big, and that it could be sold for 80 to 100 bucks! Would you suggest to put the molly in the 10 gallon? I would love to add a bit more color to the tank, any suggestions?

I asked almost the same exact question before but w/out the point part, and got 1 answer, added the 2/10 points thing, and got 10. Some of them are pretty good too.

it's pointless to offer two points coz everybody knows they're gonna get the two points. why do you think there're a lot of responses like "i dont know" "ask the vet" "...........i think" you're gonna have to filter through a lot of useless responses and smart-aleck answers...
personally i think you a good idea as far as mix is concerned. the angelfish get to be quite large and despite their name, they still are cichlids and though they may be gentle when small, once they're full grown they'll take over the tank.
i noticed that everytime somebody says pleco, automatically you'll hear "TOO BIG". they never even bother to check what kind of pleco you have. the royal pleco-panaque nigrolineatus- grows to about 10 inches, he should be okay in your 55 gallon yank. get some of the bigger rasboras or tetras and you should be set... parting shot, there are people who are all too willing to offer advice and other inputs. you dont have to try to buy them.. merry christmas
haha, guess i offended someone with the pleco remark.
so much name-calling on christmas day.. i think i'll just go and look at my tanks.
sherry, the first time you asked what fish to put, i'd never answer that because thats a personal choice,,, this time you offered a list of fish and asked if they would get along. everybody has their own opinion, that's why you had so many responses, each with their own points to consider. i would not consider any one to be the only correct answer because a lot of them have their merits. in the end, its up tp you to decide what you want to have in YOUR tank.. this is for your own enjoyment..good luck with your fish....

Well if you really want the angels, get the angels, but now, the pleco is going to get big and we never really know how big! The livebears are going to reproduce , or else they are going to be stressed if they are all males, all females. Although if you have the angels and really care for the platty and molly fry, you can reduce the stocking problems. All though these are all combinations, i would have 3 angels or maybe a fourth later, the pleco, and the 7 rasboras's and maybe another school of 7 tetras, but this would be after all is cycled and over time! This combination is best because tetras,Angels, Plecos come form the Amazon were water is very acidic, the mollies and platty's love more mineral water. You could also add maybe 3 large cories instead of the tertras or order the pygmy cories from the wild which are super small so you will need good hiding places!

I'm not sure the angels will be good with the livebearers. Mollies can be quite aggressive, not that they bite but they are fast swimmers and pushy. Angels like a tranquil environment. They are beautiful fish but really need a proper setting to do well and survive.
I wouldn't add another pleco if that was what you meant. If you mean just the one you already have then it will be fine. Just be aware it will grow very large and may end up being too big for your tank at some point.
The molly, platy and fry could go in the 10 gallon with the tetra's and everyone would be happy there. Then set your 5 gallon up with angels and some other slow moving fish. Actually I think a school of angels makes one of the most elegant looking tank displays.

Mature angels will eat smaller fish like neon tetras, small rasboras & fry (especially from your live bearers). So be prepared if you want to mix them, or else get fish that are a minimum of 5cm long. Have good enough plant growth & other hiding places. Some mollies can be aggressive nippers, have seen them bullying much larger fish like big fancy goldfish and they will likely nip your angels' trailing fins.

That is fine. The pleco will require a food suppliment. The best is algae waffers. They sink to the bottom and the pleco will eat the. Also sink some summer squash or zuccini. But dont depend on the pleco just eating what is left. There wont be much. You must suppliment food for it. The waffers are the best.

good mix of community fish and 3 or 4 lace angels are good no gouramis they are aggressive and hate angels.
might wanna get a couple more acavenger catfish or algae eaters. the pleco will get as big as the tank allows him. i had a 300 gallon tank and mine got almost 18 inches, i donated it to the childrens hospital

Angels are nice fish but very sensitive, they like to not be messed with by other fish, keep the other types you mix with them as good community type species and all should be fine.
