Thats why I've had a plastic tree since I was a kid.

Wrong. When people talk about a "live tree" they mean one that is planted or potted. People - at least everyone I know - don't talk about a "live tree" to describe one that is cut down. They refer to those as "real trees" as opposed to artificial ones.

god bless

Why are you asking this question in the gay and lesbian category. A tree is not gay. It is called a live tree as opposed to an artificial tree. And, the tree is not dead until you stop watering it, and it turns brown and dries up. I suppose during the time it is in your house, it is living, but on artificial life support systems.

It is still alive, but dieing slowly. Just like flowers or other cuttings, it does not have to remain connected to its roots to maintain life.

Many plant cuttings will regrow roots, given the right conditions.

youre buying yours in the wrong place, try the farmers markets.
I get mine every year bundled with its roots and some natural dirt in burlap so when all of this giddy activity is over I plant them.

I dunno. I always thought that was mean; to kill a tree just for a week or two. Sure it's pretty, but it'd be prettier outside growing where it belonged.

Happy Tuesday my friend!
