Historically, I admire the Founding Fathers of the United States of America for their incredible bravery in rising up against and defeating the King of England. Not to mention their considerable intellectual and philosophical commitment to the democratic form of government that produced the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Other important figures in history include the tremendously corageous Mohatma Ghandi and Martin Luther King, Jr. who practiced non-violent civil disobedience in India and the United Sates of America, respectively, in order to obtain basic civil rights and even more basic human dignity for those who had none at that time. They put their lives on the line for what they believed in and ultimately lost their lives fighting for the cause of equal rights under the law. They should be an example and inspiration to all of us.
