How about "My experience in this field will serve as a foundation for my future career." If you don't like that, then the word "reservoir" might be what you are seeking. Make sure that your sentence isn't to wordy, or that it could be perceived as pretentious. Be plain spoken and direct whenever possible.

If you check the link http://www.yourdictionary.com/reserve , the following synonyms are listed :
savings, insurance, resources, reserved funds, store, stock, provisions, assets, supply, hoard, backlog, nest egg, cache, stockpile.
You can't use all of the above words in the sense you have given , but at least some of them can be used e.g. resource , stock.
