Sure. That seems like a very nice thing to do for someone not only on Christmas but any time of the year. We have all been lonely at some point and might appreciate someone striking up a conversation and inviting us out for dinner. Christmas is just a special time to do that.

I'm not having one,
but if I were, and someone came knocking at the door and they were a lonely stranger, I'd invite them in for some eggnog and some company and some christmas music.
