I would certainly load hime up with some good eats, but as far as coming in, Thats not so easy to safely do. You have to weigh the risks to you and the benefits to the homeless guy. Here in AZ its warm and never rains on Xmas day. Actually its about 60 to 70 degrees. So I may hesitate being that there are the kids with me and safety must be concidered. It may be best to give him a big sampler plate of everything on the menu and let him go on his way.

I live in a place with a large homeless population, almost all are addicts so no I would not let him in. But, there is a mentally ill homeless man on our street. He is homeless by choice, his family lives on the next block, but he refuses to go home. He talks to himself incessantly, sometimes laughing, singing and dancing, and other times he gets into a heated argument with whoever it is he is talking too. The whole street takes care of him. One lady gives him coffee and a sandwich every morning. Another neighbor lets him use the out door shower. Still another neighbor gives him odd jobs to do, which seems to keep him happy for hours. It is the only time you don't see him on the verge of complete mental breakdown. We all give him food on the holidays, but he would never come into your house anyway. That's his thing, no houses. He sleeps in a tent near a Field at the end of our street. Mental services here are sketchy at best, and being that he refuses to take medication, and has not been deemed a danger that is where he stays.

Well, I'm not really making Christmas dinner, but I do plan to make my usual meat loaf, so I suppose I'd share it if I was convinced this was not someone who was going to rip me off. How they would convince me, I'm not sure. See, I live alone, and I can imagine said person going through my things while I'm in the bathroom.

Yes I would, as long as they looked safe. If they did not look safe, I would explain that I could not let him in because of my 2 huge German Shepherd dogs but if he would wait a few minutes, I would give him a huge amount of food as well as some money.
Merry Christmas

No...not into the main foyer...
He gets to hang out in the tool shed in back...and bathe in the pond (not the pool...)
(Hey! The tool shed is very roomy...and offers someone of his "hygiene stature" some much needed privacy while he downs an entire quart of Christmas cheer...and isn't that REALLY what the Christmas Spirit is all about...or in his case...
...Christmas "Spirits...?!?"

I live in the middle of no where at all.
I have people knock on my door at all hours. I pull them out of ditches in winter.
I bring them in when they are lost. If someone were to knock today, I would surely let them in.
All are welcome here. It may be their only refuge.
I just may be able to save a life, find a loved one, or take them home and I would feed them first.

No. I hate company. I'd give him a doggy bag and a few bux and go back to whatever I was doing.
I'm sorry, but I don't avoid my family just so I can play host to strangers. Humbug on that!

No, probably not. It's just not safe. Things shouldn't be that way but the world has gone pretty nuts. I would be happy to give him some food and some money but I don't think I could risk my family. That's sad, isn't it?

Possibly. But first I would ask him if he was hungry and give him food if he said he was. If he needed shelter, I would find him shelter.Just because he is a begger doesn't mean he is a bad guy. He just might be down and out for a while.
