everthing is fine and straight forward but my internet modem is conected by usb but the router connection is ethernet and as soon as i set it up i dont have a internet connection ,do i have to do something change my connection ..thanks for any advise in advance.

Sounds like you need a usb-Ethernet adapter, you plug an Ethernet cable into it & plug the adapter into the Internet modem using the usb cable attached to the adapter.
eBay have quite a few listed.

You either need a router with a telephone type connection, this goes straight to the line, then configure the router to handle logging in to the ISP, or if the modem has an ethernet port and the router has a WAN ethernet port, connect these. You can not use USB and ethernet on the modem at the same time..

I use this router with a cable modem using ethernet.
Most other modems in the UK have a USB connector.
I think you will need a router with USB input, or a modem with an ethernet out.
Or modem / router combined in one unit.
Back to the shop...
I don't rate Belkin.
Linksys usually have good reports.

Sounds like all you need is an ethernet cable to connect your router to your modem. The modem should also have an ethernet connection.
PS. All ethernet cables are not the same, so when you go to get one, specify it's to connect from the modem to the router.

we had a belkin wireless router
and it didnt work
the instructions were crap and we couldnt get it connected so we took it back.
we're going to get a bt router after christmas :D
