Check the fuse. If the lighter has been used for cigarettes, then the socket may be rusted. If OK, then probe the center of the lighter socket with a test light. If the light comes on then clip the test light to a power source & probe the side of the lighter socket. The light should glow. If not, then there is ground problem. The lighter will have to removed.

You might have a blown fuse....this would be the likely culprit...also if your cigarette lighter is connected to a console, check in behind the console to make sure the wire for it is plugged into the socket in the back of the console.....my 1994 cavalier had this problem with the wire unloosen from the back of the console....I just plugged it back in and it worked fine.

car chargers work better in an auxillary receptacle.but to fix lighter,probe center of lighter wih test light,clipping other end to side of lighter..light up?probably fuse....

Faulty connection has to be checked. I recommend to get it checked at an authorised Dealer.
