I used to suffer the same thing as soon as it happens stretch the leg out (pull your toes upwards towards your body only for a few seconds)it will hurt like mad but as soon as you relax the leg again it goes away sooner,
when I was pregnant I was told to eat a banana everynight before bed followed by a gatorade, or to take a vitamin b pill or tonic water every morning and these things really helped

It's will not goes away quickly, if you have pain. Because, blood get poorly goes around on your leg. That why you have pain. Best thing for you to get out the bed. Take your legs out slowly of the bed, then put your leg down to the floor, then you standing up straight for few minutes. Let blood will goes down your leg while you're relax. It will goes away the pain, but not whole of lot, it still little sore. You need walk more excerise as you should. It will help to rid your pain on your legs. You want goes to the swimming. It's will help you also. And make sure, eat plently the potassium (banana). It's does help lot for your legs.

Hi, first make sure your taking enough POTASSIUM, do stretches before you walk or do any exercises, and if they are wakeing you up out of your sleep, I don't know what age it starts but I'm 53 yrs. young and 5- 7 months ago and still now I get those cramps bad and it's also means poor circulation, my doctor put me on requip but it's too expensive, so now I take Mirapex it helps but it will put you to sleep.
So I can't take it in the day time. But have you potassium level checked, andput hot towels or a heating pad on your legs sit down and pull them back and fourth like your on a swing to get the circulation going.
Good Luck & Merry Xmas

Meat, milk, fruits and vegetables. These are the foods you need to get plenty of potassium. You can take potassium tablets from the vitamin section also. In one or two days the cramps will go away, but take the pills daily or they will come back without a really well balanced diet.

We need the PYRAMID of foods for a reason. God made us, then gave us all of the appropriate foods to keep ourselves healthy. Of course we do have to EAT THEM.

I have the same problem. When I'm actually having them, i find it helps to walk around, putting as much weight on that leg as I can without causing too much pain. I have noticed that they are much much less frequent when I eat/drink a lot of dairy, so I hope this helps you prevent them. Perhaps you could start with a glass of milk and some christmas cookies?

I would approach this from a nutritional standpoint. Your muscles will cramp if you are dehydrated so make sure you are drinking plenty of water, not less that 4 to 8 eight ounce glasses, especially if you are active.

Make sure you are eating plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains, etc. If your diet consists of unhealthy processed foods, your muscles cannot perform properly.

Take a quality multi-vitamin with minerals. Mineral deficiencies (calcium, potassium, magnesium) in particular can lead to muscle cramps.

This could be an indication of being lowi n potassium but the only way to know for sure is to see your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they think is going on. If this cramping is so severe that you can't walk I would recommend going to an urgent care clinic (many of them are open on the holiday) or the ER to have them evaluate this situation further.

Oh, you should learn some cramp-easing moves. Relax your legs. Do some streches.

You need to do things like, "touch your toes",
sit down, "put your forehead to your knees"
put Isopropyl (rubbing alcohol) on them.
Things like that.

However, if your legs and feet and little toesies, are not only cramping, but are also, like, really
beautiful,
"That's Different" !

What you "Need" now is, like, oil, all over, and for "someone" (like, "Me") to carefully massage
every little toesy and every thing else that is in need of my extraordinary services !

If your old enough that is !
