Yes - in the sense that someone (my mom and dad) made Christmas special for me and my sister. The house was decorated, cookies were baked, presents purchased, meal prepared - Christ's birth was celebrated! My dad passed away and now I am caring for my mom, My husband and I try to make it special for our kids. It's a lot of work - my mom seemed to do it effortlessly. I am so grateful for her example.

Oh god! Yes!!
I miss it so much...
I realised how much i miss it last night (christmas eve). It was spent with family, well we're not blood related but we grew up together because our parents are all good friends. We are all 16 - 21 years old now.. And these christmas days we just sit around talk, waiting for something to happen during the night. Or we go out somewhere else. Or drink sometimes.. Its not as fun as it used to be in the childhood years when we used to play and wait until midnight and sit around the tree waiting for our presents, and then tearing them open in excitment..
I would do anything to have those days back

I miss that, but I also miss the excitment of Christmas morning when my son was small. The look of wonder on his face knowing that Santa had visited him the night before....
to those with little ones.... enjoy! Time goes by so quickly

I did before I had my own children, but now I enjoy it so much more because I get excited with their excitement. It's so much fun to make cookies, gingerbread houses, and all the rest with them. We deliver cookies and candy to neighbors and their teachers. They're such good kids. They get excited about giving presents and then excited for their new toys. It's loads of fun now. But I definitely missed this feeling before I had them. I'll miss it 100x more when they're grown up too.

Christmas magic still exists.. but, when you get older, not in the getting, but in the giving. You can see the magic when you give the right gift to the right person.. or you give anonymously to those who are in need.. that's how you can see and feel the magic every year, or even all year if you choose.
