It looks so obvious that Colts struggle to get somebody fast enough and big enough to bring down Peyton's laser accurate passes. Cannot get open, cannot hold on, cannot get it done. Makes Peyton look bad very often this season. Peyton is getting bull rushed and having to run in an offense totally designed for the pocket passer. Bad planning from the git go. Bad foresight. Nonsense. Colts coaching are who is to blame. If the team was built around Peyton why isn't he surrounded by top notch receivers in depth. How are they misspending the budget on other things. These problems will do them in and next year will be no better. Peyton will take more hits searching for an open receiver and his offensive line will get beaten more often than not.

Why recruite a top gun pilot and sit him in a piper cub for a trip to the superbowl? Somebody made some bad personnel decisions. Real stupid bad. Cowboys, Pats and others made better personnel decisions, early on. Colts are lacking.

it has been that way for years with the Colts at least sense Payton came into the league,I thought they had got that fixed over the past couple of years but i guess not.it proves that you can throw money into a team or an offense and unless you do a great job of scouting and picking players then the money you spend means nothing..it proves that a QB is only as good as the team around him......anyone who says Brady did it without good players know nothing about football ,Brady has had GREAT coaching who understand the players strengths on the team and game planned accordingly, that is the number one reason the Pats have been so successful

And maybe, Peyton is the problem. You keep nailing how the team revolves on Peyton. And so when Peyton comes up short...so do the Colts.

Now look at New England. See the real reason for their sucess. Is Brady great? Yes. He and Peyton are light years better then any other QBs playing today. (As great as Favre is...a lot of it is his longevity and leadership. Mechanically, and technically he is not the same. But that is a discussion for another post.) So why could the Pats secure 3 rings to the Colts 1? Because the Patriots are built around 53 players, not 1. Even basket cases like Corey Dillon and Randy Moss buy into that "all for 1 and 1 for all mentallity". When Brady has an off game...he has the rest of his team there to fall back on. Of course....one of the reason's that he has that is that he has willingly taken pay cuts to help build the team, and unlike a certain guy named Manning....he doesn't throw his teamates under the bus (blaming the O-line for not giving him his required 10.3 seconds per pass...or "that idiot kicker").

The Patriots play at a high degree, because Belichek does not allow any Primadonnas run the locker room. If you look at how the team is built, it is a blueprint for sucess with the salary cap. Shame the Colts dont see that (or my Bungles).

I don't know what you're talking about. All of the Colts cap space is tied up on their offense. They lost Edge and get Addai in the first round. They are always mentioned as having among the best WR corps in the NFL.

Harrison and Wayne are about as good a 1-2 punch you see anywhere including Moss/Welker. They lost Brandon Stokely and spent another 1st round pick on a 3rd WR with Anthony Gonzolez who is starting to flourish. I don't think it's personel decisions. Your TEs are pretty decent too.

The problem is that Marving Harrison is out so the teams are jamming up and doubling Reggie Wayne. Anthony Gonzolez isn't all that seasoned since he's a rookie, so he's not really good enough to be a 2nd WR yet. It's not that the Colts offense is bad, because it's not. It's just that injuries have riddled the team, and their backups bring their offense from "great" back down into the realistic realm of NFL Offenses. Now they're just "good" and you Colts fans aren't used to it. :) You're not supposed to be able to score 50TD in a season.

4th best offense in the NFL without #1 receiver equals 13-2. What the hell are you talking about? Not to mention key starters out most of the season on the offensive line. Not to mention the #2 defense. What games are you watching? They've blown out 8 of the teams they have played this season and won all divisional games in the toughest division. Moron

Sure the Pats will probably win the Super Bowl this season, but the 2007-08 Colts will probably go down as the second-best team in the league that was bitten by the injury bug. Yes, Marvin being out has hurt, but losing Dwight Freeney put a major dent in their defensive pass rush. If the Colts play New England in the playoffs, you probably will notice that Brady will have a lot of time in the pocket. That likely would be different if Freeney were available to play. As far as your other analogies, um ... have you actually seen an NFL game, like, in your lifetime? Because you really don't know what you're talking about.

That is exactly what i have been thinking. Thanks for summing it up. You are so right. Peyton should be leading the league right now. He is the real deal not this johnny come lately Brady boy.

Peyton Manning will have a Hall of Fame for him alone before he retires. He is on a mission for God. He is culmunation of all that is good about football. All the rest are footnotes. I appreciate him as a man, a fine son who fulfilled his father's dreams, and the greatest quarterback to take the field! He is rewriting football history in every game. The present lack of staffing is a fluke and will be corrected next season. Canton is not big enough for Peyton Manning.

You Colts bandwagoners are ridiculous...Peyton still has Wayne and Clark...So, you're saying its all about Harrison...Thats just lame...If Peyton was as good as Brady, he wouldn't miss a step with Wayne and Clark...

Its called "injuries". Go to the dictionary and study the meaning of the word. Anthony Gonzalez is your third receiver? He's better than many team's first two!.

Some of their best players got injured. Unless you ignore the salary cap like the Pats*, it will kill your season. It happens in football. Don't count your chickens until they hatch though.

Funny how he needs lots of horses to win 1 bowl but Brady won three with ponies but Manning is a better QB? That's all most laughable.
