First off, make sure he drinks lots of water to avoid dehydration, have him take some fever reducer pills and lastly let him sit comfortably with no chore duties. If he can get comfortable this way and is not sneezing all over everyone, great. If he gets sicker, sorry to say just put him to bed. You can't stop nature when she calls. Depending on the severity of the illness, he may be able to hang for the few hours family is present. Then stuff him in bed. Merry Christmas to all!

peppermint can calm the upset stomach.
Have him try those hard candies with the red stripes on them.
Also saying a prayer for your dad. Hope he is better before the guests arrive. You stay well too, and have a Merry Christmas.
some other home remedies to wash it away:
1)chicken soup or broth (the salt in the soup prevents dehydration)
2)gingerale (or his favorite soda)
3)antacids (tums and a vitamin with magnesium helps lower the stomach acid)
4)water (I had a stomach virus that was going around once, and the nurse let me know that I had to stop eating solid foods for 10 hours to a day and then start with just water.)
It worked!!!!!!!
5)crystallized ginger (helps stave off any infection)

COKE it always helped for my when my stomach ached. And also tell him to take a hot bath. Also deffinatly alot of liquids to keep draining him out. It will keep him going for a few hours. Keep him very hot because the reason you get a fever is your body is trying to heat up your body to kill the bad stuff in it. Good luck and I'm praying for your dad =]

You can't be certain he has the same virus and he certainly couldn't have it from enjoying last night's food. If it is a virus, then he's not going to recover in half a day.
What treatment did you have? Treat him the same way (don't give him any of your medicine though!).
Praying is not likely to cure anyone.

That is the sweetest thing I have read on here. Look at it with humor! You love your dad so much that YOU gave him something PERSONAL, that NO ONE ELSE GAVE HIM, and you know he can't RETURN it but he can EXCHANGE it!!
You are a doll and I will remember your family , especially your poor sick daddy.
Merry Christmas, you thoughtful girl!

Tell your dad to drink lots of water with Hydrite, it's a saline solution that will prevent dehydration. Having a bum stomach can leave one dehydrated.

Best to visit the physician alternatively, you may have him use some antacid and Tylenol for some relief.
