...well, I haven't gotten my "Blade Runner" collector's set, yet (...I am enough of a devoted fan, that I ordered the special collector's edition attache case edition), but if I recall correctly, having bought singularly ALL the versions of the film, there have been three versions of the film, and the new release apparantly adds another two...
...version one, the theatrical edition, retains the Dekker narration, as well as the 'happy' ending...
...version two, the international/overseas edition, is unrated, 'ups' some of the smattering of gore effects, and extends some of the action scenes...
...version three is the first director's cut, which vies for the more 'downer' ending, and has the dream sequence with the unicorn, which notoriously inplied and speculated that Dekker might just be a replicant, himself...
...version four is a rare workprint...radically different edition, with alterate dialogue and music, shifted scenes, an alternate opening, no 'happy' ending, no dream sequence and no narration (...I had this one for years, in a watchable fifth generation VHS bootleg)
...version five, new to the collection, is a up-to-date remastered 'final' director's cut, which apparently is the theatrical cut, but with never-seen extended scenes & alternate dialogue and new and enhanced special effects...
