I don't understand why these viruses and stuff keep happening.... I keep having things happening on my computer.... just had a backdoor thing... that was in a file in one of my programs.... I am just about sick of this stuff... I want to know why there are all of these anti-virus, anti-trojan, anti-malware programs??? I mean, why doesn't someone just put an end to the problems? Why do we have to keep having problems & paying for them? Can't someone just put an end to this? Seems to me that, if someone, or something can get into our computers to do this to us,,,,,,, can't we put something into our computers that will install into their stuff and kill it off????????? I do not know anything about computers or anything, other than what I have learned on my own.... but, it seems like there should be someone out there that would be willing to take care of this ..... lets get these messed up people..... lets send some bogus stuff to them that will shut them down !! Thx

A good AVG, spyware and malware program will get rid of anything that slips by. You have to update it daily, as viruses are created daily.
Grisoft AVG is free, free daily updates. Doesn't cost you a dime for home use.
However, as a web developer/backend programmer I can tell you - 90% of all viral infections and malware are initiated by USER ACTION. They open file attachments without giving it a second thought, visit porn sites, just hit "OK" when any alert pops up without bothering to read it.
People always ask for FREE this and FREE that - free resources are a viral bed waiting to happen, this is how most of these find their way into a system. I always thought everyone knew this, but they don't. Beware and scan any free program, game, screen saver, anything.
And oddly enough, whenever someone brings me a comp that's been drilled to death with viruses, their response is always the same: "I didn't do anything, honest! I know what I'm doing and I didn't do ANYTHING!"
It's IGNORANCE that perpetuates viruses and malware.
The creators of these are being paid or have financial motivations.

People are constantly trying to do things about viruses, trojans, worms, etc. The problem is other people keep creating new ones. The back doors and other bugs are fixed by Microsoft when they are found, but they are not usually found until someone starts to exploit them.
This is the reason you should install all Windows and AV software updates. Most of these updates are aimed at dealing with these various security threats.

Win32.Back Door-DNM - Do not click on it to "activate security". It displays a pop up that looks like a windows security warning. It closes my browser automatically when I open IE. It offers me a button or link to "activate security" or something like that. DO NOT CLICK ON IT. Close it with the x. Do a system restore to a date before you started seeing this pop up. I knew exactly when I got it. My PC restarted itself last night (3/2/2009) right before my eyes. Then it immediately started with the pop up and closing my IE 7. I have no idea how I got infected with this thing. I have the windows firewall on, I use good anti viruss and malware programs, I am behind an internet router, etc. I am a LAN administrator. It can happen to anyone I guess. Do a system restore to a date before this thing started showing up. This fixed it for me. You can search the internet for "How to use system restore" if you don't know how to do a restore. It has only been one day; but, it has not returned so far. Good luck with your Win32.Back Door-DNM issue. I hope this helps. Cheers Donald aka: DOA

They do like antiviruses and the tea timers that come with them. Only problem is is they keep creating a new strain everyday to override your antivirus, so you have to keep updating your antivirus every three days or so via the website to keep them out. Most of the time your antivirus system cannot kill them off, but just quarantine them. Try Norton CORPORATE edition. Not the regular Norton. I have had it on my system for three years without a problem from virus. Lots of quarantines, but no problems.

whio is the first person to buy a new car when they come out -
car thieves - they want to know how to break in - how to steal the radios - what's the most expensive item in the cr - how quick can they get it out
the internet has a million more points of entry than a car
and with some of these people - it's a game to see who can do what the fastest - who cares how they hurt or damage they cause
sorry = no easy fix
I am frustrated, too
Merry Christmas!

If you can design something like this you'll be a billionaire in 1 year! I'd like to write a powerful virus program that can destroy every porno site is the world instantly without the creators knowing what hit them. That would crash a billion dollar industry!!

Make sure your protection is up to date. Then, do not open every file that you see. When you open up an infected file, it will pass on to your computer.
YOU have to learn safe computing, otherwise there are no applications that will be able to help you.
