I'm the wrong person to ask that. I'm suicidal right now. I think you should ask some other people.

If your meds help you to stay healthy, why would you want to stop taking them? I know you said you're tired of taking them, but why? Aren't they working as well as they should be? I'm sorry. I seem to be asking more questions then you did.

I have a mental disorder and while my meds don't make me 'normal' they still make me feel better than if I didn't take them. I don't like the idea that I must take them for the remainder of my life, but my life is better because of them.

Sometimes life gets me down but then sometimes it gets everyone down -- even people who are well. So I just go with the flow & wait until it passes. I try not to dwell on it & to keep in touch with people which is very important.

I hope that your mood lightens & that you become more hopeful.

Dear Waiting, Your question is too serious and important for us on answers. We aren't qualified to make a judgment in your situation.

There are factors to consider: Who is depending on you right now? How will your death affect them if you hasten your death? Are you positive that you will die from this illness? Are you sure you cannot accomplish anything for anyone anymore? How can you be sure your thinking processes are good enough to decide this question? Do you know the difference between acceptance and quitting?

The number one question is this: Do you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ? He gave up His life for you so you could have a loving relationship with God and be forgiven for your sins/mistakes in this life. If you are nearing death, then matters like forgiveness/restoration of relationships should be serious issues for you. The approach of life's end brings up all kinds of things you may not have ever considered before. There is a God. He is Holy, Good, Just, and Concerned for you. If you have never prayed before, now is the best time to start. Please speak with someone who can give you responsible help with the many issues and concerns you must feel. There are loving people who will be willing to help you wrap up your earthly affairs and help you look toward death with peace.

Your question may not be prompted by your own health issues, but those of someone around you. This person needs help. No one can help another face death without some serious thought/prayer. I'm not sure what caused you to ask this question, but I hope you will find some help no matter why you asked. May God bless and help you!

You need the meds just like you need food. If you quit eating in order to come to terms with the inevitable, it would be suicide.

Hey now my friend. I take meds to keep me healthy too. A lot of people do and you know what? No matter what we do, all of us will someday face the inevitable.

I think you should keep taking those meds and tell your doctor and your family how you are feeling. It is normal to get discouraged when you are ill.

Please don't give up my friend. Things will get better for you. Have faith in yourself and in God. I know it doesn't seem like it right now, but things will change.

Love and hugs my friend,

Firespider
