well, you 'can' as soon as you are able to ejaculate sperm. The effects could vary, with obvious consequences like STDs and pregnancy, and psychological and emotional consequences that vary from person to person...some people have no emotional problems, others develop addictions or attachment issues or worse problems based on the relationship they have with the person they had sex with. I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a very, very healthy relationship regarding communication, honesty, and trust, as well as other aspects.
in other words, those are probably things you won't be ready for until youre older

Jack--age is not the determining factor--sex is for mature adults that consent to expressing a real love for each other. The laws put limits on age because kids cannot grasp the reality of sex and they are NOT ready for babies or some of those deadly diseases. So before you actually have sex--read some good books on it and what can happen. You must be ready for the consequences of your actions---and rumors on how to have safe sex are often wrong. Get smart and wait...unless a baby with crappy diapers, screaming all night while you try to work 2 jobs for money to pay endless bills is what you want.

it's usually about the age of 13 or so. Won't hurt to play before that age, but should not do it for real with a girl till much older and more mature.

the first sexual experience is accompanied by a surge of oxytocin in the brain, sort of chemically wires certain things about sex into ur brain. for example, u will see her face in ur mind every time u do it, ull smell her sweat, theres a saying "u never forget ur first" because u have a bond with her that wont be repeated. it also shapes ur sexual lieks an dislikes. i duno, if u think thats the person u never want to forget then its up to u. i want the first time for me to be with someone i truely love and is in true love with me. that way if i dont end up with them, at least i will never regret it â¥

I guess whenever we start to feel that we're ready.

Hmmm...My personal answer was "as soon as I could"
No No effect - some might say you are psychologically harmed - I was more like, well, happy. :-)
Recent studies have indicated that waiting too long might be worse.

I think that you should wait until you are sure that if have sex with a person you will not regret it afterwards. You have to be mature enough to do it and, should anything go wrong, be there. I'm 16 years old and I'm gonna wait until I'm sure.
